APR Reflash - Mk V Golf GTI

For people who have an ECU flash thus increasing the kw/hp, does it make taking off an issue due to wheelspin?
-
Perhaps im completely mistaken but i found a few posts on US sites that state that you can have your ECU reflashed with "Launch Control" functionality by Volkswagen. Not sure if it is available here though..Originally posted by robbyx View PostGoddamn!!! I thought a tune would maybe knock half a sec off stock 0-100 time.. That clip has really got me druelling now.
I wouldn't get those times in my Jetta though... Doesn't have launch control since it's an 06 model
All I can say is that vid has made me want this mod even more now, so thanks for helping me blow my mod budget!

Yes the car is totally stock apart from the APR S1 tune. She has 8000k on the clock too.

Sorry for late reply mate,Originally posted by robbyx View PostHey Adzy,
Out of interest, are you running stock with just the APR Stage 1 tune?
Or do you have other mods on the car too?

Just had my car re-tuned with the APR map last night

Dean at Volkspower is (edit: WAS) an absolute champion and from what I can see has all the time in the world for his customers.
If any one is 'considering' this mod, just go do it! Very happy with the gains and I will soon compare the acceleration figures before and after the mod
Cant wait to drive my GTI again!!!!!!Last edited by adzy; 09-05-2011, 12:04 AM.

Crapping pants with excitement
Have done my research also and it seems like a no brainer to go with APR
Called Dean at VW Power and he was very helpful, I cant wait to head down to download some NM's and KW's.
And with the gearbox - Some of the DSG's in the states are copping more than 300 kw's and no reports of failures which is damn good news to us looking at a minor 190kw.

Contact Dean at Volkspower (Burwood), he can arrange to test drive if you require.Originally posted by LotusGTI View PostGreat idea re having a run in a car. I'll drop you an email shortly.
APR tuned cars in the SE suburbs? Anyone want to take me for a test drive? Any comments?
Cheers.
Also the free trial is available - try before you buy.
He also has copies of dyno's done by customers with stage 1, 2, stage 2 + fuel pump, stage 1 & 2 with APR intercooler as well.
Special is on this month, all programs loaded for free - switching, anti theft, security & 4 engine programs.

Have had my jetta done for almost a year now and it's still going strong without any faults . Have left it on the program since day one and it's great. Have the same motor and gbox as the gti so it's a direct comparison. Power and torque change you can feel without the need for dyno, but like the sound of a dyno run in the near future. Am in western suburbs but would be happy to take you for a spin if noone else wants to. Let me know how you go
