Removing rubber door seal

My rear passenger door was smacked against a pole and now I've got a dent on the silver frame around the window

I'm trying to remove the rubber lining (see pic) to repair it, but the rubber piece seems held down firmly. Does anyone how to remove it? Do I just pull it out or is it glued down to the frame?
