Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Dashboard illumination MIA at times

I have a MY14 Skoda Yeti 90TSI Ambition where the dash illumination goes missing every now and then (MFD display is fine). Usually the numbers, needles are illuminated all the time with or without lights switched on manually or by Auto lights on. I haven't fully checked if at night if all the other interior lighting is missing such as the window and dash buttons. I'm sure they were missing on one occasion at night.

Has anyone experienced this? The vehicle is going to the dealer on Monday but any ideas could be useful.

I'm not talking about the low daylight feature when daylight is low, at night or driving through a tunnel, the illumination disappears except on the needles to alert the driver to turn on the lights. I've checked the sensor in the MFD with a torch at night and works fine.

I have this posted in the electrical section but thought I'd add it in the Yeti section.
