Hi,
Family member is looking for a newish car.
I would have recommended a new Polo GTI (DSG) but it seems to be riddled with both engine and transmission issues!
Now, does the car, 1.8T engine or the 6spd DSG/S-Tronic have underlying issues or common faults?
Basically is it going to be a lemon like the 1.4l turbo/super-charged and 7 Spd DSG I read about here?
Oh yeah, is the 1.8T belt or chain driven?
Fortunately I've dodged major issues with my MkV GTI DSG, otherwise I would have sold it, but I treat my car with mechanical sympathy and service it on time.
