Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New Skoda owner - Octavia Scout 2011

Search for my next drive was exhausting over the last 6 months. Went from VW Golf highline Mk7 (Due to having a had a Golf Mk5 TDI 2.0 when it first came out) to a Polo to now this. The forum was very helpful in understanding the range of VW cars and their idiosyncrasies. Favoured the Skoda for their slant on things VW.

Still have a very well maintained Toyota 4runner 92 but fuel costs are not good at all. Looking forward to the greater than 1000km mileage which was a big factor in my decision.

Car is a 2011 premium Scout with 89k's. Previous owner lady driver that did country miles. Seems to be immaculate. Got it financed with an extended warranty for $20k.

Picking up car Sunday so will post pics.

Seems to be no bluetooth audio so first thing will be sorting out. Then would like to get some better tyres for those dirty trips away?

Keen to delve into whats happening on this forum and getting to know other forum members.

    Cheers
    James
