Hi,
I have been cruising this site for a while now to see what mods are being done and what issues people are experiencing. I am at about 8K with this car and really love it. I do have a couple of issues I would like to ask on before I go to VW.
Firstly, has anyone experienced any noise above the usual engine noise at idle, best way to describe it is a worn bearing noise, fairly low tone rumble. It is only noticeable at idle when the A/C compressor is engaged. Certainly not what you would expect from a new compressor.
Secondly, the sliding cover for the cup holder will not retract all the way to allow use of the second cup holder. I thought I would have a look just in case the missus wedged something in there, I don't want a hefty bill from VW for it not being warranty. I could not budge the centre console, I unscrewed everything I could see. I ended up forcing my hand between the carpet and the rear of the console to feel around the cover assembly and I found a couple of plastic guides that must be part of the cover assembly.
Has anyone experienced any of the above issues?
