Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Long time VW addict first time post’r

    Hi All,
I am yet another VW fan. I Usually prefer to keep my VW’s stock and immaculate but more recently started mod my 2009 VW Polo 1.9 TDI. My first VW experience was in a friends Beetle in Byron Bay in the 90’s. It broke down that day. I still really like that car. VW’s as you all know are unique in many ways. Their history gives them loads of character. My first VW was a 2003 Golf 2.0 Manual, next was a 2008 Jetta TDI Manual and now have the MY09 2012 Polo TDI Manual as well. I have broswed this site a few times and have found it to be the best source of general info. This is why I am posting. I have a small issue with my alarm. Also if there are any cruises with polo’s in or around Sydney I may join the procession. The Polo is such a great little car and I have so far put 17inch GTI wheels and replaced the springs with GTI springs which lowered the car after a small lift after changing the wheels and tyres. Now she sits better on the road and handles 100% better. I’ll add pics if I can here. Haven’t checked out all the options here yet. I’m a newbie.
    Cheers
