Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC An oldy but newbie

Well I finally made it into the world of Volkswagen ownership. I have traded my 05 Boxster (I know, I don't understand either!) in for a TS103 Highline Golf in black with all options from VW Camberwell and I pick it up this Friday. I only made the decision last Wednesday after checking out a few cars including the new BMW 2 series and it was the interior quality of the Golf that won me over. It really is that good. Everyone thought after the Boxster that I would get the GTI but with the driver assist package it comes with the sport mode so I have that aspect if I feel the need. Our other car is a BMW X3 30d M Sport which does 0-100 in 6 secs so if I need acceleration I have that to play with. My only disappointment is that we don't get the 8 inch nav screen. I have that with the X3 and it is so much easier to read but other than that I am very happy with the car. I can't wait to pick up the car and I'm looking forward to enjoying the forum. Cheers all!
