Hello all,
I am Introducing myself as I was told I must- my names James I am 23 and from Sydney's northern beaches. Just finished my apprentschip at my local BMW dealer and have just left for greener pastures ( I hope ). I'll no longer be working on cars for a living and I'll be doing some more heavy kms than I have over the last 4 years which has urged me to start thinking about getting a new car. Something a bit nicer and more respectful than the ****ter corolla I'm driving at the moment.
I Signed up to pick some brains before I make the purchase - it's between a mk4 golf gti or mk4 ( I think ? 05-09ish shape) polo gti..only really want to know what to expect in terms of common faults ..obviously the golf is about half the price and a bigger car but the polo is newer and I do prefer the front end..they seem to have similar features/options (are the motors the same? 20v 18 turbo)..will be doing some bolt ons regardless of which one I opt for and obviously maintaining/repairing it myself - how bad are they to work on? Can imagine the turbo being A prick to get to??
