Hi,
My names David and I am currently living in United Kingdom, Scotland. I am 18 years old and looking to emigrate to Australia after completion of studies at University in two years time. This is not the sort of introduction you may expect lol.
Here is a couple of pictures of my car:

Soon to look like this:

I have registered on this forum to gather a little bit of information about what the Volkswagen scene is like in Australia. I am a massive Volkswagen fan and have currently owned 4 Volkswagens.
My first car was a 1litre Lupo - you don't get these in Australia as far as I'm aware, they must be imported.
After that I moved on to another 1litre except it was a 6n2 Polo. Admired this car but it just wasn't fast enough..
I then moved onto a Lupo GTi, fantastic car. Cost way to much to insure so I bought another 1litre lupo to run around in for a good few months until I had passed my driving test for a year which would bring down my premium.
Is the Volkswagen scene pretty big? I mean, what does the typical young lad drive in Australia?
I hear a lot of people talking about laws against lowering your car in Australia. Does this apply to all states & can anyone tell me what the law is exactly? Here in the UK there isn't any sort of law against lowering your car, although you are meant to get an IVA test if you perform a chassis notch to stop the drive shaft flawing the chassis..
I did come across a MK3 which seemed loooooow as fook up for sale here:

Is this illegal^^?
Another question is, do you have Volkswagen festivals? Here in the UK we have festivals such as UltimateDubs, Players festival, Edition38 etc.
I had a search on youtube but couldn't really find much..
Edition38 in the UK
Look forward to reading build threads and contributing a couple years down the line and lastly I can't wait to move to Australia!

EDIT: Any laws on air bags? (Bagged suspension)
