    Hi All,

I've just started a relationship with a green '97 mk3 Golf GL. It's really quite neat but needs a bit of work in the suspension area, plus some other niggles. I'm not afraid to get a bit greasy and i'm wondering how difficult it is to DIY, where's the best place to get parts and whether there's any highly trusted mechanics to be recommended by the forum if a job is beyond my DIY comfort zone. I'm in the Wolli Creek area.

If I was to replace the shocks myself, I'd assume there'd also be some bushes and so forth that would be better to be replaced while I'm there. Any advice most welcome.

Would anyone have a second hand service manual they don't need anymore? I know you can get CD roms on ebay but that just doesn't feel right to me. It's just not the same as flicking through a proper manual!

Thanks in advance, and look forward to being an active member of the forum!

    Cheers,

    Ian
