Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi from Bundaberg.

Hi everyone, i'm looking to purchase a vw Caravelle soon, budget looks like only a T4 is going to be affordable and like the thought of a V6 edition.

I've had various Vw's from a 1966 Split Bus, various 60's bugs a 1959 Low light Ghia, MK 1 Golf, Mk1 Passat as well as an array of later watercooled VW's and Audis. I've moved to Bundaberg from London and spent the most part of my youth driving around Europe in a V dub attending Vw shows and auto jumbles of some sort due to my infatuation with the aircooled stuff and then later due to being friendly and doing part time work for VW & Audi driver magazine.

I miss the shows and events as it seems V8's and Utes are king here but with a little girl now and the exciting prospect of road trips and camping a Caravelle is an excuse to buy a VW as well as being a practical option!

Given the opportunity my dream car would be a porsche 356 but failing that a 23 Window Samba Split bus would be very close behind and thats the long term plan as i have hoarded vintage accessories to one day put on the ulitmate project!

Looking forward to learning and few things and seeing whats on offer here in Sunny OZ and hopefully putting my future VW to good use!

    Cheers

    Shane
