Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    First time owner of VW

    hi all
    been lurking on this site for a while and
    finally taken ownership of a Golf GTI

    Have been impressed until .....
    the head light switch was found faulty - it was fix easily
    then...
    high pitch whistling noise, found to be coming from the water pump
    -( i wil post this on the relevant thread )
    booked for warranty repair next week

    I always have Japanese car but can't help my confidence in VW which has shaken a bit
    is it just my bad luck ?
