I am the proud owner of a new Passat 125TDI DSG Bluemotion wagon in Icelandic Grey. Still running in, I've used 60 litres of Diesel in 782Km (7.7 L/100 Km) of mainly highway (100 Km/h) driving. Should improve on this as the engine loosens up. Very happy with the car and the dealer from whom I purchased (Barloworld Bayside in Moorabbin).
As others have mentioned, I am not a huge fan of the Start/Stop system in the usual cut & thrust of suburban driving, and wish VW would provide a MFD option to choose whether to have this On or Off by default.
I also found an annoying rattle coming from the rear of the load space
, which I eventually tracked down to the latch holding the emergency triangle in the tailgate door. The triangle sits inside a rectangular plastic tube, which in turn sits in a hinged flap secured by a plastic latch in the tailgate. The latch had an annoying rattle over anything less than very smooth tarmac. I solved this by putting some packing material wrapped around the plastic tube, which forces the latch against its lock and holds it tight. Viola! Problem solved..
