Hello everyone, first time poster. Used to have a gorgeous 72 superbug chop top yellow and black with matching interior, it was the car I learnt to drive on, it was my baby, I still miss it every day, a bloody red P plater smashed into me about 3 years ago now. I still haven't got over it... I realy wish I was still driving it, and then I couldn't find an appropriate replacement bug in decent condition that wasn't over-priced. Then I made the biggest mistake ver and bought a fiat 128 sl coupe and it was a beautiful car but unfortunately the previous owners did some dodgy repair work on the structure. basically it was a money pool and I kept throwing cash at it, unknowing that it was always going to die on me. So i had to ite the bullet after being too poor for another hobby car and bit the bullet got a loan and got myself an incredibly boring 2011 suzuki alto hatch back. I dream of the day that I'll own another beetle but it won't be until a long time. This makes me very sad, and it all comes back to that stupid 17 year-old red p-plater if he didn't destroy my baby I would not be in this mess, it was a domino effect and i hate it. I've felt quite depressed about it for a long time now, and i even get a bit teary about it. But i'm sure a lot of you understand that these cars aren't just vehicles, they have personality and become part of you. People associate me with the beetle and even acquaintances I haven't seen for years still ask, how's that beautiful bug of yours going? then i get sad and have to tell them that it is no longer with us...
But enough of my sad story haha!
I have a friend that is getting married next march and they would like to use either an old beetle or kombi as the transport for the groomsmen. If anyone of here has an appropriate vehicle with a great looking body and is interested in driving to and from the house in Sutherland shire to the venue in Peakhurst can you get in contact with me either here or email: riannon@design-r.net and send a photo of the vehicle and how much you'd charge.
The hire car places were way over priced and the to-be-wedded couple just bought a new house and couldn't justify $600 for being available for 2 hours.
Thanks a bunch, Riannon!
