I have ordered a Tiguan 132TSI which I will be picking up on Friday. I am either going to be towing a light Jayco or European style van due to the low 100kg towball weight. I stated to the dealer that I wanted towball fitted and electric brake controller for caravan fitted (as Jayco dealer said this was essential to tow caravan). I also stated that I wanted genuine VW parts and VW fitted as I did not want to void my warranty on Tiguan electrics.
I have tried to get more information with regards to the eletric brake controller, and was concerned when I read online that VW do not fit electric brake controllers, yet this is what I have asked my dealer for.
Also, VW Tiguan states that towing capacity braked over 750kg. Does this mean that the caravan has to have electric brakes fitted (as this is not an option on a European import) Any help and advised would be greatly appreciated.
