Hi everybody I should have done this years ago, my first 4x4 was a WW2 LHD JEEP which I re-built mechanically whilst in my early teens on the farm. Since then the list of fourbys were Hilux 2.4D 2X L Cr.wagons Mitsubishi & Rodeo utes. The T5 is now stabled alongside a Tdi Tiguan. The longest hard run with the slide-on camper fitted was Birdsvill & Innamin- cka via Walkers crossing. My first major job was to fit rear Diff-Lock, I drive with no springs, I am currently working on a LSD for the front diff. I still have to modify my handbrake wheel actuator leaver to make it hold properly, has any one else had problems? The v-dub garage said the pads - disk & cable all ok, they adjusted it & I should have no more problems, ha, ha,! Future work- to make aluminium shield (bash plates)for anything vulnerable underneath, Oh' why am I here V Dub QLD.seem to have a secrecy policy! other things on the go is get the gearing reduced for towing and off road use + H D.clutch, I'm a bit concerned about DMF. wear? what to look for whilst its apart.
