Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    NSW Roof Rack Removal

    Hi Guys,

    I've just purchased a 2005 Golf TDI, and I'm having problems removing the roof racks. I can't get them off because they need a specific key. I've taken the car to a roof rack dealer and he has not seen this type of rack before. They have a sticker on them "logo" and "VW" but when I google this, nothing comes up. Even the VW service centre could not remove....!!

    They have quite a large clearance off the roof..

    Can anyone assist please......
