Hi folks. Just joined so, as requested here is a little bit of background. My partner and I are from the uk and have been living in Melbourne for a couple of years.
I have been getting together as much information about the Transporter T4 as I can as we have set our hearts on one we found in Tasmania which is how come I found my way to this site.
The vehicle we have found is a Trakka conversion, manual petrol T4 Syncro from 2001 and has just 70,000 on the clock. Just been to see it too.
It seems to fit the bill, really good condition ... no rust or dents. Full awning to the side and rear shower awning. Hot and cold water and pop top so we can use our underground parking. A great fit out and a big bed.
The draw back is the owners know its a good one and have priced it accordingly. $36,000 if you were wondering.... oh and being a petrol its more expensive to run.
We know we could get a similar fit out in a Hiace for a lot less money and Australian friends have been warning us of VWs because of the repair costs when things do go wrong, but most of my fears have been calmed by reading through posts on here.
So I joined to get involved and ask more questions.
Thanks, Kwika
