Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New GTI owner

    Hi ,
I recently brought a new Mk6 GTI which is the first VW I've owned since the 1962 Beetle I purchased as a student for my first car 26 years ago. Huge Difference. Love the turbo rush.

The configuration is a pretty standard , but I did get the ACC after reading a number of reviews on these forums and going for a final 45 min test drive.

I drove the car from Sydney to the Gold Coast for its first long drive. Very happy with the ACC. Great drive.

Thanks to all the poster out there on the forums, there's some fascinating reading.

I'm already considering a DIY RCD510 to RNS510 upgrade. ( I was an Electronics Eng for the first 5 years of my career...now its software) Of course the ECU mods look attractive.

I might even consider doing a track day at Eastern Creek with the other petrol heads from work.

    Cheers, Guy

PS. My other car is a 1970 XW 302 Fairmont. love that V8!
