Hi there - first post!
Hope you can help. I have just bought a 06 Golf (FSI 2.0L) with damaged TCM (J217??) and crushed connector. Couldn't get out of park. I bought a second hand module and 'cut and rejoined' wires for new connector. Took car to mechanic with a VAG COM. He was able to talk to computer but not TCM. I disconnected the cable and moved gear selector by hand to drive onto trailer.
Suggestions???
Take to dealer - to use 'dealer code'??
Can I take it out of park? An Emergency release is listed in the manual and in other sites I've located but buggered if I know how to do it - (usually has a locking/release insert near shifter).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
