Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • G'day all!

Hi everyone, have been lurking for about a month, and am impressed with the knowledge here!
    Excellent work everyone!!!
I haven't managed to get the petrol out of my system, yet, but my lovely wife is trying.
Amongst other vehicles I've owned (the usual modified Holdens, couple of years in one of George Furies Bluebirds, damn that was fun!) I did spend some years in a gen 4 Golf. Loved the handling and overall quality, but the stock 1.6 just lost me in the end. That and when the manual shot some rivets about inside, well I just moved on.
Would love to own a GTI, BUT I'm having way too much fun in my modified Rexy
Currently own a couple of Transporter T4s, which I'm about to pension off.
They would have to have been the most reliable vehicles I've owned.
And once I found a bloody good mechanic to service them, not costly too!
I don't know too much about Vee Dubs, but am about to pick up a second hand T5 Highline and there are some things I want to find out, once I have it and can have a good rat around.
Thanks in advance for your help, and hopefully I might find something I can contribute too.
