Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Looking for a new car...thinking Mk3 VR6

    Hey guys and girls - long time no see. I was formerly on this forum back in around 2007 or so under the same name. At the time I had a 97 Golf 2L GL but it got written off when someone ran into the back of me when I was at a red light.
    I've been driving a 97 civic hatch as a run around in the mean time but I've been missing my mk3 I've been thinking about buying a VR6......

    I haven't quite made my mind up yet as I am concerned about maintenance costs as my old Golf cost me a fortune in maintenance. All that aside I've still got a badgeless grill, tail lights and some other stuff kicking around waiting for another Mk3 so I guess I'm just procrastinating about the inevitable
