Hi,
My 118Tsi Comfortline manual (with sports susp and sunroof) is ordered (October) and now we continue to wait.
We expect this to be a great car and better than the one it replaces, a 2005 Honda Accord Euro Luxury manual. All in all that has been a disappointing car and failed to live up to our reasonable expectations regarding build quality, reliabilty and driving enjoyment. Oh well at least it's almost behind us.
Anyway back to the Golf. I'm glad we ordered a manual.
The gearbox choice seems to be the most debated topic within the entire Golf options list. Tdi v petrol seems equally split with neither a bad decision.
But the DSG seems to have attracted way too many complaints, both with its drivability and reliabilty. Realistically, how many non VW fans would tolerate the faults listed with the DSG in this forum alone. It's a wonder that there isn't a dedicated forum to the things (to include those passonate about them as well as those profoundly disappointed in them).
And I for one would not tolerate the long delays incurred in waiting for DSG warranty repairs. And I expect that out of warranty resale will reflect the cost/expectation of impending failure.
Like I said, glad to be waiting for a manual.
Cheers to all
Mick
