Hey everyone, just thought I’d start a thread to chat about UTE accessories — what you’ve got, what you recommend, and what you think is worth it. Whether it’s canopies, roof racks, toolboxes, lights, or anything else that makes life easier on the road or at work, feel free to share your setups, tips, and photos. Always good to hear what works (or doesn’t) from real experience. So, what’s one UTE accessory you couldn’t live without?

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Great thread idea! UTE accessories can really make a difference when it comes to functionality and convenience. Personally, I’d say a canopy is one of the most essential accessories, especially if you’re using your UTE for work or for long trips. It provides protection for your gear, keeps things dry and secure, and allows you to store tools and equipment safely without worrying about the weather.
If you're often out on the road or in remote areas, a good quailty roof rack is also a game-changer. It’s super useful for carrying extra gear like kayaks, bikes, or even larger items that won’t fit in the back. It also frees up space in the cabin or tray for more important gearLast edited by akime; 12-03-2025, 11:21 PM.
