Hello All, 1st post and introducing myself. My son (19) recently bought himself a Mk6 GTI as his first car - time will tell if that's a wise move (Mine was a 1969 Mini "Deluxe" that had been crashed and I had to put it right).
In any case, I'm the mug who will have to maintain and repair the GTI as my boy would not know which end of a spanner to hold (and is a student so paying a mechanic is a big stretch for him) so I thought I would get on board with people who know the brand and hopefully I can benefit from your collective knowledge and maybe share some of the things I learn along the way.
My second post will be a shout out for advice on an issue with the cooling system so keep an eye out for it and please be gentle.
