Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Newbie first post with a 2018 Passat 132 R line + Lux Pack

Looking for some tech advice regarding a problem with my passenger front door.
It has lost all internal power to that door. Powder window switch, ambient light strip, led spot light that shines on the internal door handle all dead. However, window works from the driver side, door speaker working, folding mirror is working and folding mirror puddle light is working as is blind spot light.

Common sense says this is a single cable connection that has come loose in the door or in the footwell.
VW want to charge $200 OBD scan fee before they will do anything.

    Questions
Would an OBD scan zero in on the exact problem?
Anyone had a similar issue / fix
Would a VW specialist be a better/ cheaper option

Cheers! And thanks for any advice
Working...
