  • Mk VII instrument lights

Newbie here, and new to this 2017 GTI, but not to Volkswagen.

I'm trying to adjust illumination levels on the instrument panel. I've found several descriptions of changing daytime illumination, but I want to change nighttime illumination. It gets very dark where I live, and the dashboard lights are too bright even on the lowest setting of the dimmer switch. I would like to be able to actually turn those lights off.

Using a VCDS, I have found what I think is the right section in Control Unit 17:

    ENG105834-ENG99777-dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_gauge-Y1,03 ,12
    ENG105834-ENG100480-dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_gauge-Y2,03 ,12
    ENG105834-ENG100773-dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_gauge-Y3,10 ,12
    ENG105834-ENG100631-dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_gauge-Y4,1E ,12
    ENG105834-ENG102174-dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_gauge-Y5,55 ,12
    ENG105834-ENG113993-dimming_characteristic_curve_adjustment_gauge-Y6,64 ,12

So, does anyone have any experience with adjusting the dimming switch curve?
