Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • SA New Jetta owner from Adelaide

    Hi there,

As my inaugural post, I would like to introduce myself and my new (to me at least) car, a 2008 TDI Jetta, 90KKms, DSG. I purchased the car from the original lady owner in Canberra, which is where the car has spent its life putting around town. To say the car is clogged up would be an understatement. I have driven the car back to Adelaide in limp mode - cruises at highway speed no problems, but struggles with hills.
Myself, I am an engineer, but have little automotive background or understanding, but am very keen to learn. In particular, all things dpf and egr. Aside from the sluggish performance (for now), I really enjoy driving the car, and can see the attraction for these cars / VW community.
Anyway, hope to engage with you all, and whilst I may not be able to offer a lot from an automotive perspective, am happy to contribute from an electronic eng perspective if needed.

Finally, this is my first forum, so if I muddle any etiquette, please feel free to let me know.

    Cheers,
    Andrew
