With three nominations all for the same person – ‘Hamster’ – it was another clear victory for Mr Hammond at Eastern Creek. From the Intercooler water spray kit that put more water in the pit garage (and pit lane) than on the intercooler, to the professional cooling fans for the brakes and engine bay (just a bit much for ‘friendly competition’ we think) however, the winning entry came from his engineer. Stating quietly at the end of the day “so are, you spent what, 3 minutes removing your windscreen wipers to save all of 4 to 500 grams, yet not spend the 30 seconds to take out 4 kilograms worth of rubber floor mats…could have been a 2:01…”
When asked for comment, in a softly spoken voice and with his hands slowly rising to his face, Marc replied “It, it felt like I was on a space ship. The, the car was good, it felt good, what, what do you want me to do with my hands?”
Each Class winner receives a Framed Certificate featuring their vehicle at the circuit (as taken by Michael Vettas and Kyle Sharp – two award winning motorsport Photographers from circlework.com.au) and a $50 Gift Voucher from Peak RPM Performance.
In addition all competitors receive a free high quality digital photograph of their vehicle at the circuit, and discounts at VAG MS series promotional partners available only to competitors such as; Peak Performance, Rennenhaus, European Autotech, Payless Tyres - Chatswood, Peninsula Race Gear, Wax it and Ingolstadt Autosport.
