Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I can't make it on Sunday. I'm happy to swap back to a hills run as that was the original plan anyway, but someone else will need to sort out the map - I've got too much on my plate at the moment. Pick a meet point, Google maps to Mundaring (Little Caesar's is on the main road where the shops are, and then find some interesting looking roads along the way and move the map around, easy.

I'll stick a vote on here if anyone is interested....looks like the usual crew only anyway.

Any trip to Mundaring ought to include Mundaring Weir Road in at least one direction. I'd suggest you start at the top end in Kalamunda and head down, but watch out as you approach Bickley Valley, there's a right-hander with a MASSIVE drop off to the left. Last time I went down there, there was no armco barrier. And if you decide to stop at the Weir you're likely to get your car broken-in to, so be warned. The MW Hotel is a really nice spot for a cleansing ale or two, just head past the Weir then turn right at the roundabout.

The forecast is now for 33 degrees, which would make a hills run bareable with our germanically efficient a/c

Well, the response to this has been underwhelming to say the least. Can't say I'm surprised to be honest. Since no one seem to show any enthusiasm I'm calling this off ...

Sorry if anyone had actually intended on going. Feel free to meet up and make your own way to Freo or somewhere else if you like.

                  Your loss guys.

i think saturday is a hard day for a cruise, more people work, have sport, have kids that need to go places just more committments on saturdays as a rule. sundays is the go in the future i think. IMO

hopefully in the new year a decent cruise can take place

I agree the response has been a bit flat but its not cause for sour grapes. This time of the year has everyone pretty much flat out with festive season stuff, end of year work stuff, parties, rellie bashes and god knows what else. It sucks, but what can you do?

Noted (to both Kiel & MattyT) but I'm kinda over trying to organise things and no one turns up. We haven't had a decent run or watercooled meetup in 6 months I reckon, and that's nothing to do with Christmas.
