Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.     World premiere for Sharan and Passat Variant as Emergency Service Vehicles

    Wolfsburg / Fulda, 11 May 2011 - Volkswagen is presenting today at the European exhibition for rescue and mobility (RETTmobil) in Fulda its product innovations in the field of emergency vehicles. The highlights this year are the new Passat Estate and Sharan as an emergency vehicle use (NEF). In addition, innovative audio and visual helpers are presented to assist emergency physicians and paramedics in their work.

    On the stand in Hall 3, Volkswagen presents two new ambulance emergency vehicles. The new Sharan is equipped with a powerful but fuel-efficient and low-emission 2.0-liter TDI engine with 125 kW / 170 PS and 6-speed DSG. The vehicle has a special signal system using LED technology, and remote horn speaker. Also, the Passat is equipped with an efficient 2.0-liter TDI engine with 125 kW / 170 hp and four-wheel drive with 6-speed DSG and the NEF-basic package. Both vehicles are shown in the trend color Candy White and have front and rear flashing lights.

    There is a special highlight it on the outer surface of the Fair Ground. Volkswagen is there a built-up as an emergency physician use of the Touareg. The vehicle has permanent four-wheel drive and a 3.0-liter TDI engine with 180 kW / 245 PS. In addition, the NEF with front and rear flashing lights in blue and with a special signal system is equipped with LED technology. The Touran has this year seen as a face-Command Car in Night Blue Metallic. It is equipped with a car engine run-safe mode, and an accident data storage. In addition, a constructed as a command car Sharan is seen as an emergency physician emergency vehicle. The car stands out among other things, by four-wheel drive with 6-speed manual gearbox and the new RTK-7 (special signal Appendix), 2.0-liter TDI engine, four wheel drive with 6-speed DSG.

    In addition, Volkswagen presented major technical equipment elements of the NEF.
