
Beetle Cabriolet
Volkswagen is known for its Cabriolets, the Karmann GmbH produced Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Golf and New Beetle Cabriolets have been bestsellers in their respective classes. Combined these sales are over the 1 million unit mark.
The wind in hair experience, the design and expertise have made these Cabriolets icons in their own right.
Volkswagen will be returning to these roots with 3 new Cabriolets within the next 4 years.
First off next Autumn, Volkswagen will reveal the latest Golf Cabriolet, this again will be built in the Karmann factory of Osnabrück only this time Volkswagen own the factory after Karmann GmbH went into insolvency last year and are currently in the last stages of taking over the engineering division.

Golf Mark 1 Cabriolet
The last 2 Cabriolets that VW will built, is the New Beetle II Cabrio due sometime late in 2012 and the Passat Cabriolet.
Passat Cabriolet will eventually replace the hardtop Eos Coupe-Sunroof-Cabriolet (CSC) which is disliked by current VW management due to the expensive build and engineering process involved with hardtop cabriolets.
The Pièce de Résistance that has only been approved within the last 2 weeks and is not a Cabriolet but a Roadster is the Concept BlueSport. Concept BlueSport is a mid engined sports car due in 2014 and its rival is the Lotus Elise and forthcoming Abarth Roadster.
Concept BlueSport will be propelled by Golf engines: mainly 1.4L TSI twin-charger, 2.0L TSI turbocharged petrol engines and the 2.0 TDI diesel engine.
